    Elizabeth Wojtowicz - President

    Elizabeth has been a member of TXBA SHRM since 2014.  She joined the board in 2015 to help develop and grow our local HR student chapter and serve as the College Relations Chair.  Elizabeth is now our chapter President.   Elizabeth moved to Texas in 2014 and joined Coastal Flow Measurement as their HR Director.  Coastal Flow Measurement is a hydrocarbon measurement services company.  In Elizabeth’s current position as well as her previous position, her role has been to develop and grow the HR Department.  Elizabeth is responsible for every aspect of HR including employee relations, performance management, organizational development, compliance, compensation and benefits, recruiting and payroll. 


     

    Brian S. Hayes  - Past President

    Brian has served as Chapter President for Texas Bay Area SHRM for the past 3 years.  He is an experienced Human Resources leader with a career background that has involved extensive collaboration with executive leadership as a trusted advisor in achieving current and future business goals, as well as, the hands-on practitioner.  With broad HR and business acumen, he provides an expanded viewpoint to manage business change and transformation.  Brian has been instrumental in managing human capital initiatives for several companies such as McKee Foods Corporation (makers of Little Debbie snacks), Wood Group, United Technologies and OxyChem.

    Brian served as Chapter President for Texas Bay Area SHRM for the past 3 years.  He is an experienced Human Resources leader with a career spanning over 24 years.  A hands-on HR practitioner with broad HR and business acumen, Brian has provided key counsel and an enhanced viewpoint to manage business change and transformation. Brian has been instrumental in managing human capital initiatives for several companies such as McKee Foods Corporation (makers of Little Debbie snacks), Wood Group, United Technologies and OxyChem.  He currently serves as the Program Director for TideWay on Galveston Island, a long-term care facility for patients with a traumatic brain injury.  TideWay is part of Transitional Learning Center of Galveston, a post-acute neuro rehab facility. 


    Kim Hagan - Treasurer / VP of Membership

    Kim has been an active member of Texas Bay Area SHRM since 2011. Currently, Kim practices Human Resources with HOYER Global (USA), Inc., a company which provides logistical services on a global scale as part of the HOYER group of companies, now one of the largest companies offering true global door-to-door bulk logistics. Kim started her career with HOYER as the Assistant to the President.  When she started, no HR department existed but over the course of time her position transitioned to an HR role.  Now HOYER has a full HR department staffed with 4 employees. Kim is currently in her 20th year with HOYER and is the HR Manager.


    Donna Canales - Secretary

    First, I look forward to meeting you all!  We love to add “talent” to the TXBA SHRM HR network.  I started in the HR field in 1996.  Having graduated with bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degree from UHCL, I quickly set to work growing the HR dept at Ron*Carter Automotive Group in Alvin, TX.  Our HR dept was one of the very first in the automotive industry (our owner was definitely ahead of his time).  Let’s say for those of you who wear all the HR hats at your company, I feel your pain. I received the SPHR certification in June 2008, and am now just as proud to hold the SHRM-SCP certification.  So for those of you contemplating sitting for the certification exam…Go for it!  It is such a great, rewarding accomplishment, and it will continually push you to “raise the bar” and promote excellence in yourself and the HR community.  On a personal note, I have the most fantastic, supportive husband and son.  I love to travel, dine out (or eat in general), relax with friends and a glass of wine, and enjoy making lots of great memories!  So if you are thinking of joining TXBA SHRM, think no further!  Just take the plunge.  We will all welcome you onboard! 

    PS:  AND, you will feel a more personal touch from TXBA.  Not get “lost in the crowd”

     


     

    Michelle Radous - Hosptiality Director & Membership Chair
     

    Michelle has been a member of the board since 2014.  She is responsible for Membership as well as the coordination of our Monthly Chapter Luncheons and Conferences.  Her goal is to make our TXBA SHRM members and attendees feel welcome and help HR professionals get to know their fellow HR Community.  Michelle is the National Account Manager for Agency 8 Recruiting and Consulting.  Agency 8 specializes in quality recruiting and headhunting providing companies with the top talent in Houston and Nationwide.


     

    David Potts - Conference Committee Chair

    David Potts has been a member of the TXBA SHRM since 2014 and is currently responsible for planning special events.  Previously, David was Vice President of Programs for TXBA SHRM and was responsible for scouting, vetting and scheduling speakers.  In 2008, David made a career change from a provider in the healthcare industry to employee benefits consulting. He joined a small, elite brokerage firm in Friendswood, Texas.   In 2014, this firm joined forces with Marsh &  McLennan Agency providing him the opportunity to successfully bridge the gap between what the “big firms” offer and the attention,  advice, solutions, and programs that smaller businesses require.  On a personal note, David is a life-long resident of Pasadena, Texas where he lives with his wife and two sons.  He has many hobbies, but enjoys any activities revolving around family. 


    Sherri Osterlund - Program Chair

     

    Sherri has been helping people connect their talent with a purpose for over 20 years. In 2001 she moved to the Houston area where she joined Certified Staffing and spent five years in the staffing industry working with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from petrochem to light industrial. She has served as Board Member of Texas Bay Area SHRM since 2001. Sherri placed top talent from Vice Presidents to Veterinarians for 7 years at The University of Texas Medical Branch. Sherri currently serves as the Director of Recruiting at Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) and is also a member of the Bauer College of Business Advisory Board. As part of TDECU’s commitment to talent development Sherri became a most recent leadership role- Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and serves as an internal Strengths coach.

    Sherri received her Bachelor’s in Marketing at Florida State University.


    Martha Richards - College Relations Chair / Webmaster

     

    Martha has been a member of TXBA SHRM since moving to the area in 2012. She has been a board member since 2015, serving as the Diversity and Inclusion Chair and the Digital Communications/Social Media Chair and now as the College Relations Chair. Martha works at Coastal Flow Measurement, Inc. in Clear Lake, a hydrocarbon measurement services company. She is the Human Resources Generalist and half of a two person HR team. During her time with Coastal Flow, Martha has assisted in the start-up of a new Human Resources department and is currently involved in several different aspects of HR including recruitment, training, employee relations, and benefits. She recently earned her SHRM-CP in May of 2016.


    Renee Ethridge - Marketing Chair

     

    Renee has served on the TXBA SHRM Board since 2012 as the chapter's Marketing Chair. She has over 27 years of staffing and human resources experience. She joined the Meador Staffing team in the late 1980s and quickly demonstrated her strong negotiating and selling skills, as well as the ability to service contracts among many platforms from local business owners to medium and large accounts and consumers. She has experience as a staffing consultant, professional direct hire recruiter, branch manager, sales manager, and account manager and is part of the Meador Staffing Clear Lake Team.

     Susie O'Dell - SHRM Foundation Director

    Susie has worked in the Human Resources Field for 25 years and has been an active member and Board Member TXBA SHRM since 2010 .  She has specialized in Recruiting, Employee Relations, EEO/Diversity, Consulting, and Strategic Workforce Planning.  Her industry background includes Manufacturing with a Fortune 100 Firm, Professional Services/Human Capital Consulting, and she is currently working in the Distribution and Sales industry.  Susie is currently the Vice President of Strategic Workforce Planning for Del Papa Distributing Company, based in Texas City, Texas.


    Tom Markley - Workforce Readiness Advocate

    Since earning his MLHR from The Ohio State University Tom has enjoyed a career starting in labor relations as a specialist and gradually expanding to progressive roles in HR management and employee relations.  Tom has spent the majority of his career working in manufacturing beginning in the paper industry interrupted by a short corporate role in children’s toys (think Play Doh), then several years working in chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

    Tom has been an active SHRM member having served in numerous roles in local chapters and has enjoyed mentoring students at OSU’s College of Business.

    Tom lives in League City with his wife, daughter and daughter’s mixed breed pup who generously walks him most every day.

    Anne Dowless - Communications Director

     

    Originally from the Midwest, Anne has lived in Texas for the past 24 years and has lived in Houston for the past 9 years.  She joined her first HR chapter in college, when she was a member of the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA).  She has served on the board of the Corpus Christi Human Resource Management Association (CCHRMA) as the Legislative Chair, and has also served on the Cameron County United Way Board. She has been active with TXBA SHRM since 2013. Currently she works as the Human Resource Manager for Bay Area First Baptist Church and Bay Area Christian School,  a church that serves the 4-B area and also operates a Pre K - 12 Christian School with a current school enrollment of over 800 students. They currently plan to continue expanding to serve more families in our community.


    Hortencia Barragan - Diversity and Inclusion Chair / Certification Chair

     

    Hortencia has been a board member with Texas Bay Area SHRM for the past two years and has been actively involved with our chapter as a Special Events Committee member and the Diversity and Inclusion Chair. Hortencia helps coordinate and plan special events, conferences, and meetings. She works as the Human Resources Manager at Industrial Material Corporation in Galveston, Texas. Industrial Materials Corporation is a steel distributor, fabrication and coatings facility. She has been in Human Resources for four years.


    Lisha Lacy - Legislative Director

    Lisha is the Regional Director of Human Resources - Gulf Coast Region with GEO Speciality Chemicals in Deer Park. She handles labor relations including coaching, counseling & direct participation in contract negotiations while providing day-to-day human resources support to clients and employees, both internal and external. Lisha serves as the Legislative Director and as a Special Events Committee member and helps plan the great events that TXBA SHRM plans for our members and community. She has been a member of TXBA  SHRM since 2014.


    Christi McCracken - Brazosport MSA Liason

    Christi has been a member of TXBA SHRM since 2014 and a member of SHRM since 2012; she looks forward to getting more involved in the SHRM community in 2017 and bringing more SHRM to the Brazosport Community!  Christi has spent the majority of her career in chemical manufacturing with SI Group in Freeport, Texas.  She currently is the Administrative Coordinator for SI Group – Texas Operations which has sites in Baytown and Freeport, Texas. Her HR background covers several aspects; employee relations/engagement, payroll, succession planning and recruitment.  Christi lives in Lake Jackson with her husband and two sons, is a lifelong resident of Brazoria County and recently graduated with her Associate of Arts & Bachelors of Applied Technology degrees from Brazosport College.


    Idalia Rodriguez - Community External Relations Chair

    Idalia has been a member of TXBA SHRM since 2014, and has over 18 years of experience in HR Management.  She currently serves on the board as Community External Relations Chair, which strives to make chapter members aware of community organizations that would be beneficial to HR professionals or businesses.  She relocated to the Texas Bay Area in 2014, to join Polyone Corporation as their HR Manager. Idalia is responsible for all facets of Human Resources including employee relations, talent management, organizational development, talent acquisition and regulatory compliance. Polyone is a premier global provider of specialty polymer formulations, color and additive systems, plastic sheet and packaging solutions and polymer distribution.
